Colombian band touring to the USA and then touring in Canada
Hi there,
An independent rock band from Colombia is planning on getting a artist visa to tour the US in October this year. They want to play Canada for a few days, and then back to the US for a few more dates, and then they go back to Colombia. How should we proceed? Will they need a multiple visa? Will they need a visa for Canada as well? They will not be playing bars, only venues. Thank you!

Visa for Canada is an issue of Canadian law. I have no idea what their rules are. For the USA, look into P visas http://www.immigration.com/visa/p-visa/p-visa-overview for USA. If you are performing without getting paid in USA, you can look into a B-1 visa as well.

Can I somehow apply for a Green Card?
I have studied here in the US since 2007 and am graduating from the best conservatory in the US now. I have already sung minor roles in a major house here in the us and also major roles abroad. i have been employed on OPT at a major opera company in the US for the next season in their young artist program, starting after the summer. I have received full scholarships at all schools attended and also received several awards/grants abroad. My work as a singer is freelance, no major opera company in the US hires people on longer contracts, so can I get a Green Card and live here from now on?

Green Card for a famous band
if a band becomes famous in a country (bangladesh for this instance) what are their chances of self sponsoring themselves for EB1 green cards in usa? the band wants to open a label in usa as well . in this instance, the band has performed on the biggest tv stations/shows in bangladesh, has their songs been played on commercial radio in bangladesh, performed in the most well established venues in bangladesh where most famous artists only perform, and has millions of fans. They have articles published of them in newspapers and magazines, and has won awards with their music. is this good for GC

Box office success is definitely a pointer in the right direction. We have processed EB-1A cases for several musicians. Extensive documentation of "sustained national recognition" is called for.

Canadian musician traveling to US
Hello, my boyfriend is a songwriter and musician. We are both Canadian. We were thinking of driving down to the US and trying to book shows in local bars in small towns across the US. We would pass a hat around as a means to make money. I would be traveling with him. What kind of visa would we need? Thank you.
Canadian musician traveling to US
I am not aware of any visa that would accommodate that, Patricia.

Artist visa
Hi, I'm a Canadian artist who loves traveling in the U.S. and have noticed many great art/craft shows. Is it possible for me to get a visa or green card to be able to attend these shows to sell my work?
Artist visa
Just attending shows or visiting does not require a special visa for Canadian citizens. You just drive down.

Hi, I'm French and I've got a booking/management agency. My artists are becoming famous and I want to book them in United States, to play in clubs as deejays. What type of visa my artists must have, and what type of visa managers of the agency must have to go ?
Thanks you, and excuse me for my English

Will they be paid in USA or outside USA? How long will they be here? Are the events booked and listed in advance?

Visa for a non profit event
Hello, I'm a Canadian musician and my band has been asked to do a one time charity event in America in which we won't be paid, but will get great exposure. We want to do it, do we need a working visa just for this one day non profit event ?
Visa for a non profit event
If you are all Canadian citizens, you should just be able to come in without any issues. Carry some evidence that this is a charity event. No problem.

Second O-1B application
6 years in the US, 1st O1-B expired on Feb15, sent in application for the 2nd O1-B already in December. The itinerary wasn't sufficient, response due by April 26th, ready to send in the completed itinerary plus additional letters of intended employment. My household is in New York. I'm still here. Am I illegal now? Is there a grace period? Thanks!
Second O-1B application
As long as you had filed your extension application before expiration of the current status, you are not illegal as long as the case is pending. You are in authorized period of stay.

Visa for Dancer
I am a dancer and if I want to teach and do auditions and perform in USA which visa is the best?
Visa for Dancer
Look at P visas: http://www.immigration.com/visa/p-visa/p-visa-overview and O-1 visa. If the activity will not generate remuneration, even B-1/B-2 visa may be an option.

O-1 or EB
I currently am holding H-1B, working at the university as staff pianist (full time). I am looking into the option to apply for O-1 or EB as my H1B expires in mid-May. I am a pianist of an award-winning chamber ensemble as well, who recently contracted with a management. Due to the nature of my profession, there are many temporary, part-time jobs/gigs that were offered, which I couldn't take because of my current visa status. I wonder obtaining an O-1 will provide me more freedom to be active as a collaborative pianist. Thank you~!
O-1 or EB
Let me look at your resume. There is, of course, no charge for that. Send it through: http://www.immigration.com/contact

Green card
Hi i am a singer from Australia and want to come to NYC this year to audition for broadway. I have performed on cruise ships for the past 2 years and have performed in many theatre productions in sydney. I have a BI visa so does this mean i can live in the US for up to 6 months? I was told if i get a job in singing whilst I'm there, i can i get sponsored to live and work there. Is this correct?
Green card
It is never that simple. Look at the O-1, P-3 and H-1B visa categories first. Let us see how you can qualify for a work visa. Also, feel free to call into our free community conference calls every other Thursday. Note that B1 visa has restrictions. Usually, you cannot work.

Thankyou! I researched those
Thankyou! I researched those visa types and found the P-3 is best for me and allows me to work and live for one year? I may have an agent lined up so do i now just need them to sponsor me and what does this involve?
Thanks!
Thankyou! I researched those -- P-3
:-) What is involved is not an easy question to answer. The basic info is already here on our web site and on countless others. If you have specific questions, join me in our next free community conference call.
