Green card for my wife

As a legal resident,I got my wife her green card in 1998.She lived in USA for about 4 years and returned to Ecuador and never came back. While she was in USA I retired and got SS benefits for me and her as my spouse. All these years I filed as married filing jointly and reported her SS income. Now I am a US citizen and she wants to come back to USA.I want to re-apply for her green card but my daughter is telling me that I can get in trouble because once my wife left the US she was no longer entitled to SS benefits and that I did not filed taxes stating she is a non resident. Is she right?

Green card for my wife

Luis, I do not know know much about social security and tax laws. But I do know if she had filed taxes as a non-resident, she would have indicated that she is no longer a green card holder. Check with a lawyer who practices in the area of social security laws.

Sibling Visa

My brother, 31 years old and unmarried, got his citizenship and US passport 5 months back. He lives single. I am 28 years old male. His annual income in USA is USD 40,000+. I am from Bangladesh,Asia and the US embassy here does not provide sufficient or convincing information, so can you please tell me how long it will take for me to get US green card/ permanent residency if my brother apply for me now? IS there any way to accelerate the process or get a call for interview soon like less than 5 years?

Please advice.

Review the visa bulletin for September 2011. http://www.immigration.com/visa-bulletin/visa-bulletin-september-2011
You can see that category 4 is backed up to April 2000. It appears that it will take over 10 years. There is no way to speed up the process.
