USCIS Updates Count of FY2010 H-1B Petition Filings
USCIS announced an updated number of filings for H-1B petitions for the fiscal year 2010 program. USCIS has received approximately 42,000 H-1B petitions counting toward the Congressionally-mandated 65,000 cap. The agency continues to accept petitions subject to the general cap.

USCIS Revises Direct Mail Program for the Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card (Form I-90)
U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services (USCIS) published a Federal Register notice on April 28, 2009 that changed the filing location and filing instructions for the Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card (Form I-90). The revised filing instructions require applicants to submit supporting documentation with their applications. Prior to this change, applicants were instructed to bring their supporting documentation to their biometrics appointments. The notice also revises the Direct Mail address for the Form I-90.

U.S. citizens (USC) and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs) may file immigrant visa petitions with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on behalf of a spouse or child, so that these family members may immigrate to or remain in the United States. I actually had very easy time getting interim ead. I went on wednesday but was asked to come back on Tuesday thats when the IEAD is issued in the Columbus Office. Went there on tuesday which is july 20th at about 8 am. Walked directly to the office gave my papers waited for 1 hour. They called me in and gave my interim ead valid for 8 months

My prossessing of the EAD took more than the 90 days (Big Surprise) so I booked an appointment through Infopass for 7:30 this morning. I arrived at 7:15 and walked right in. Thanks to the notes on this site I already had a I-765 filled out and I was finished the checkup in 12 minutes. Most of that time was spent watching the agent pulling things up and printing them. Then he had to photocopy my Driver's License. He told me that another person actually made the cards and he didn't start doing that until 11:00 and gave me a pass to get back in.

My daughter and I applied for our second EAD (family based applications), we received a Notice of Action to go and have our Biometrics done. We made an appointment and had it done. My daughter received her EAD one week and a day later. I never received mine. I call the CIS service center on many occasions for anwsers, they told me after ninty days I could make an appointment and get an Interim EAD. I made a infopass to Orlando,Fl.

WASHINGTON – The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) announced modifications Monday to temporary exemptions for nonimmigrant students taking online classes due to the pandemic for the fall 2020 semester. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security plans to publish the procedures and responsibilities in the Federal Register as a Temporary Final Rule.

USCIS Adjusts Fees to Help Meet Operational Needs
WASHINGTON—Today, the Department of Homeland Security announced a final rule (PDF) that adjusts fees for certain immigration and naturalization benefit requests to ensure U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services recovers its costs of services.
Unlike most government agencies, USCIS is fee funded. Fees collected and deposited into the Immigration Examinations Fee Account fund nearly 97% of USCIS’ budget.

MILITARY ACCESSIONS VITAL TO NATIONAL INTEREST (MAVNI) RECRUITMENT PILOT
The Secretary of Defense authorized the military services to recruit certain legal aliens whose skills are considered to be vital to the national interest. Those holding critical skills - physicians, nurses, and certain experts in language with associated cultural backgrounds - would be eligible. To determine its value in enhancing military readiness, the limited pilot program will recruit up to 1,000 people, and will continue for a period of up to 12 months.
