USCIS Updates Webpage to Share More Accurate Processing Times

WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) launched a pilot to test a redesigned processing times webpage that displays the data for all forms in an easier-to-read format and also tests a new way of collecting data and calculating the processing times for some forms.

The pilot will test four forms using a new automated methodology for calculating processing times. The four forms are:

Update to Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence

USCIS published an update to Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. The new edition is dated 11/23/15.

Starting 02/29/16, USCIS will accept only the 11/23/15 edition. USCIS will not accept editions dated 04/13/13 or earlier after that date. The edition date can be found at the bottom of every page on the form and instructions.

USCIS Extends Green Card Validity for Conditional Permanent Residents with a Pending Form I-751 or Form I-829

USCIS is extending the validity of Permanent Resident Cards (also known as Green Cards) for petitioners who properly file Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, or Form I-829, Petition by Investor to Remove Conditions on Permanent Resident Status for 48 months beyond the card’s expiration date. This change started on January 11, 2023, for Form I-829 and will start on January 25, 2023, for Form I-751.

USCIS Implements Risk-Based Approach for Conditional Permanent Resident Interviews

WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced a policy update to adopt a risk-based approach when waiving interviews for conditional permanent residents (CPR) who have filed a petition to remove the conditions on their permanent resident status.

USCIS Memorandum on Revised Guidance Concerning Adjudication of Certain I-751 Petitions

 

This policy memorandum (PM) revises and clarifies guidance issued on October 9, 2009 relating  to late filing of a joint Form I-751, Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence, and authorizes officers to issue Requests for Evidence (RFEs) for untimely filed joint I-751s.
