I consulted some lawyers on how to waive my 2 years residency, I wasn't able to finish my program or even meet the 2/3 rule. Me and my husband are so hopeless and don't know what to do, only thing that we know is through Hardship Waiver. And then God sent an angel. We consulted to this lawyer and told us that establishing hardship is difficult especially we don't have kids.He tried to convince us to try NOS and I will be the one to do the process. So we did,eventhough we have only 10 % chance that they will approve the NOS, just to save money. In case NOS will not work.

This forum has been very helpful, and motivational for me. I finally got approved after almost 3 yrs. Here is my Timeline:

I came to the US from Canada on a J1 Visa and wanted a California ID for personal reasons. I followed some of the advice in this forum (thank god I found it) and got my ID within 2 weeks of finding this forum. Total wait time has been 1 month and 2 weeks (way better than others). Just like the earlier posts, CPDCCSSM@dmv.ca.gov wouldn't help me either and told me to call in. What I DID learn from the forum is that you have to call the legal presence department several times to get through to a wait list.

I have worked for my US based employer (Company 'A') since 2004 on H1 after completing MS, and have applied for GC with them in 2008 in EB2. In 2011 I have relocated back to India while GC application was pending and changed my processing to 'Consular Processing'. While I was in India, I have my GC approved in November 2013 thru Consular Processing.

Wanted to share some info on a friend's case I assisted with. Her father was born in Texas, raised in California. He married a Mexican citizen in Texas in 1992. My friend was then born in Mexico in 1993. She lived there with mother until age three then they moved to California. She was raised in California. Her parents then had two more daughters born in California.

Hello everyone. I got my approval notice yesterday (Chicago Office). 
I was waiting for the interview for 3 years plus 9 months for the decision. 
The officer was friendly (kind of too friendly, got me really nervous), "made" me speak without the interpreter because of my "fluent" English and also asked some tricky and unexpected questions, all while smiling nicely. I convinced myself that I would be denied.
