Each month, the Visa Office subdivides the annual preference and foreign state limitations specified by the INA into monthly allotments based on totals of documentarily qualified immigrant visa applicants reported at consular posts and CIS Offices, grouped by foreign state chargeability, preference category, and priority date. USCIS Assists in Employment-Based Visa Fraud Investigation Leading to Federal Indictments

DALLAS — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services played a key role in supporting a federal investigation that resulted in the indictment of two Texas residents for their alleged involvement in a large-scale immigration fraud scheme.
EB-2-NIW–Physician in MUA
We represented a physician working for a healthcare network within several counties of a Medically Underserved Area (MUA). Initially, we submitted the required documents, but the tricky issue was the division of the physician’s service over several counties. The approval in this case required that we work closely with officials from the State Health Department to provide proper documentation and verification of the full-time nature of the job, albeit across several areas and proof of physician shortage within each area.

Reminder on Priority Dates Movement
The August Visa Bulletin http://www.immigration.com/visa-bulletin shows good priority dates movement:
. India EB-2 advances from 2004 to 2008
. According to the visa bulletin there is a positive move for both spouses and children of permanent residents. Family-Based 2A category will be current for all countries as of August 1st.
. Green card holders and their spouses residing legally in the US should be able to file their I-485 packets in August
