E2 visa staus change

We bought a business with our life savings in 2011, my husband has an E2 visa, I am on a b2 visa (we are common law for 10 years, and the British embassy couldnot give me an E2 but supplied b2). The business has failed taking all our life savings and leaving us with debt. Can we change our status in order to earn money to pay these debts and survive. How do we stand with my husband on E2, our 2 young children on E2 and me only on a B2 please help......
