our online community and others have filed a lawsuit against United
States Immigration and Citizenship Services (earlier known as
INS) challenging the delays in processing of some applications

The community had made several concerted efforts to redress this
problem through the government and the legislature. Thousands
of people signed and submitted several petitions, but no action

Having failed in their efforts, filing a lawsuit was the only
option left to the community.
