However, Mr. Rajiv Khanna and his team prove that, that notion cannot be applied to them. Mr. Khanna is a very straight forward and honest lawyer, who does not hesitate to call a spade a spade. He never makes any promises or assurances just to please his clients. For example, in my case even though I have all the requisite qualifications and expertise to pass though the EB-1 category, Mr. Khanna said that he will do his best. He did not make any promises. But he did a really wonderful job and prepared 45 pages of petition, which I coould go through before submission to the INS. I know that many other lawyers even do not show the petitions to their clients. But Mr. Khanna is an exception. The petition was approved in just three weeks. Mr. Khanna and his excellent staff helped us a lot and stood with us while we went through the long process of status adjustment. I and my family feel very lucky to have Mr. Khanna as our immigration lawyer. We remommeded Mr. Khanna to many of our friends. He is very polite and friendly and is easily accessible to his clients. I handed in my RIR application through Raj's Law Office in Dec.,1997 (PD 12/5/97) and I was informed by Raj today that it is approved. However, the process is no without glitches. At one point, I was almost convinced that it was impossible to get the RIR in NY/NJ when I received the letter from NJ DOL asking for withdraw of my RIR application. Thanks for the ACCURATE advice from Raj during the whole process so that I can get the approval. I believe that I deserve what I got based on my experience and background. However, what differs a good lawyer from an ordinary one is how well your scenario can be presented to DOL so that they can be convinced. Raj delivered my case excellently based on his extensive knowledge and experience in immigration affair. I can't think of a word in my mind to express the gratefulness to Raj. In the last two years I had called his office many times, though he was not my attorney, he was kind enough to provide me invaluable legal advice for absolutely no charge. I am working for a company in St Louis and I already had my labor and I-140 done under EB3 by May 1997 with PD May 96 using my company attorney. Since then I was waiting for my date to become current. Situation never improved with my 6 year clock ticking very fast ( Sep 18, 98). To be frank, when I approched RSK in March 98, I was in desperate situation. I wanted to find out all possible alternatives from him. The job requirements were B.S + 5 years experience. Based on the knowledge I had gained by reading the immigration faq on this site, I felt that I could try for an EB-2 classification. When I suggested this to my company attorney (in Pittsburgh), he tried to discourage me in multiple ways (more money, possible rejection, etc) and sounded as if it is very difficult. At this point, I called Rajiv S Khanna and asked his advice. He confidently said that I am perfectly qualified to apply for EB-2 classification and he would not any special amount for this. Based on this, I madeup my mind and decided to use the services of RSK. My I-140 was filed in 2nd week of Jan 1997 and was approved (EB-2/VSC) in 2nd week of Feb 1997. My I-485 was filed in 2nd week of March 1997. I got my EAD approved in April 1997 and got my I-485 approved on March 9, 1998. Rajiv and his team were a great reassurance along the way. Kudos to Dorothy and Suman for handling my case professionally.  Here are some dates: Priority date: March 18, 1996. This was the day on which Rajiv's office sent my RIR application to Raleigh SEC. Got my Labor approval from Atlanta DOL in March '97. I-140 was then approved in 4 weeks. I delayed my I-485 application because I didn't get my medical checkup in time. I-485 applied (along with apps for EAD and Adv. Parole) around July 15, 1997. Receipt date is July 22, 1997. Got Adv. Parole in 2 weeks, EAD in 4 weeks. Dates for India retrogressed around Oct 97, and my application became current (again) around Dec 97. Received my GC approval via mail on Jan 24, 1998. By many estimates, my GC process was very quick. This, in spite of Raleigh SEC losing my applicatin for 4 months and I delaying my I-485 app because I didn't get the medical checkup on time. Clearly, Rajiv's office played a major part in this quick turnaround.Their applications are neatly typed, clearly organized so the INS and Labor offices have no chance to make a mistake.
