E-Verify User Manual for Federal Contractors

Printer-friendly version

E-Verify is a free, Internet-based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in partnership with the Social Security Administration (SSA). E-Verify is currently free to participating employers and is available in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Beginning September 8, 2009, certain Federal contractors and subcontractors will be required to use E-Verify to verify the employment authorization of their employees, regardless of citizenship. This requirement was published in Federal Acquisition Rule; Case 2007-013; Employment Eligibility Verification (E-Verify Federal contractor rule) on November 14, 2008 and applies to solicitations and contracts issued after the effective date of the E-Verify Federal contractor rule, September 8, 2009. Beginning on this date, contracting officers will insert the E-Verify requirement into applicable Federal contracts.

This User Manual attached below is designed specifically for Federal contractors who have the FAR E-Verify clause for E-Verify in their contracts.
