Problem with I-94 Correction

I am an alien working here on H1B visa. I entered this country in May through Newark. The officer at the airport wrote the visa valid till date incorrectly, however, corrected it by pen and put his initials below. He overwrote the digit 0 with the digit 1.
Today, when I went to the DMV, they did not accept my I-94, and asked me to get a corrected one. How can I get a corrected copy? The DCICS asked me to go the airport itself. I do not know for sure that this may be the solution.
